Grande Punto My Black Tjet

Introduction

My Black Tjet Project

Thought id show how my little tjet has progressed over the last 2years :)
(bare with me ill be editing this post for a while as i get used to it lol)

I did pretty much nothing to the tjet for a year,

Firstly im not much into ICE installs, so in the audio front i only added a pre-amped subwoofer in the back, 10inch fusion tube type, the reason because it came with a remote and its suprisingly powerfull and being that it has a hard shell the boot is still very useable!

Next i got a Red GSR induction, not any power gains but the sound is worth it ;)

Soon after my custom cat-back exhaust from Torque Exhausts in enfield, again power gains wernt noticeable, i asked for a 2 and 1/4 inch bore straight threw pipe and sound wise i wanted the rally pops and crackles and a nice burble on idle and they provided (y) finished with a twin 3inch tips.

my friend James1989 your grande punto it is very beautiful but the disc wheels abarth because what what it wanted :)(n)

if your talking about ice im not a big stereo guy the 4x mid and 2x tweeter on the standard system is more than adequate together with my sub, tbh its off most of the time i like to hear whats going on

i might take out the rear seats and carpet it over less weight more smiles!

Engine notes! :slayer::yum:

Maybe you could do the dash? Hmm rear seats and carpet it over... that seems quite pointless, do you use the rear seats at all? If not I guess you could take them out... (y) There really isn't much left to do to your car...

the point would be to save a fair bit of weight and no one sits in the back on the regular, the car weighs 1155kg according the parkers.com the seat bench and spare alloy must be 55kg and since ive done all these power upgrades getting rid of some weight will really show up (y) another member on here benpunto has done it and he said it was a fair difference

Easy now, how come your selling your gsr induction?

easy now lol because im getting a forge induction and that matches my alloy inlet pipe so the engine bay will look immense :slayer:

theres absolutely nothing wrong with the induction kit far from it its in real good condition i just wanted the forge now as theyre similar power gains but imo the forge looks better

so today between my hayfever fits of sneezing i removed a fair bit of trim, the rear bench and seatbacks and headrests, the extra carpet i had laid, all tools, the parcel shelf, also the spare wheel and subwoofer are out so a fair bit of weight laid my mdf carpet base over the wheel well with a gap for sub leads and laid some accoustic carpet over the rest its not glued down i wanted to see what its like to live with for abit but...

doing some power to weight ratios on the internet and on paper if she achieves the power she should once remapped with my weight saving an r32 isnt unbeatable

what you guys think?

I really like that... only problem you may have is the back end stepping out?

also i've been meaning to ask you this for a while.
Any chance on getting up a video of the exhaust noise, and a few gear changes or something?

cheers mate its just stuck down yet its just to see how it would look, had a quick blast earlier with traction off and the back wouldnt come out ill try it on some b roads soon to see if quick changes of direction force it too!

lol ill see what i can do, its fairly quiet like i asked in normal driving situations just a nice rumble and alot louder on boost :)

gear changes? to hear if it pops between gears ye? it does and the more boost the turbo is creating the louder the pop

New induction time,

nothing wrong with the GSR infact it had a fresh filter not long ago but the forge matches the alloy inlet pipe and well what you guys think..

Yeah its just what you asked for from the exhaust company you went to is exactly the same thing id ask for if I went to an exhaust company near me, Just wanted to know what it would sound like to compare it and to know what to expect.

Love the Forge induction, GSR makes a better noise and power though?
Looks good in your engine bay  Matches! You just need to do something about the plain black engine cover. (n)

see the kits sounds different, the gsr is more of a roar and louder dump but with the forge theres louder turbo chatter and other bits, tbh there similar power and noise wise i can recommend either just for me with the work ive done on my engine bay it made sense i have to thank Hornby123 for the kit even though hes sold his tjet for a clio (n) lol

ill get a video of the noise and pm you the link or something im not sure how to get video onto the forum but ill get you one soon well soonish  but i tell you what i said to the guy, not dustbin clio size or jap style loud i want more character in the noise than volume, pops crackles more old school rally and a nice rumble on idle :D i was very technical at that point but i also asked for the size of the abarth exhaust 2 and 1/4 inch bore straight threw no mid box to the backbox and i got the twin 3inch pipe helpfull?

Both induction kits are worth the money then? Ooo a clio... If it was a 197 cup then I would say its a good choice to have swapped a T-jet for it. (y) Yeah just post up a link or something on the thread and i'll have a look, yeah that sounds helpfull... It's all about the quality of the sound not the volume, I googled a few saxo's last night for a laugh and someone got an exhaust to about 110DB... HOW POINTLESS!

I want the same tips as the essesee (spelt wrong) back box, because its like the same exhaust as yours just rolled over? so its thicker metal at the tip. Twin 3 inch pipe looks great, seems to suit it more than the smaller pipes.

looks gud fella i took the rear seats out of my gfs type R and put a roll cage in it its handles like a go cart its awsome about the induction kit am not a fond lover of chrome :yuck: but each tp there own lol

i really like it metal polished up it looks real nice against the red the pictures really dont do it justice!

tbh there wasnt as much difference as i was hoping but i couldnt sit anyone in them anyway as a horible knocking sound however slow i went over bumps and such so the very least ill save some petrol :slayer:

Love your car mate how did you learn how to fit the induction kit?
