Stilo GizmOwin's "Abarthed" Stilo MW.

Introduction

Right.. I know some people don't like it when people put abarth badges on a non-abarth car but sadly Fiat didn't make a Abarth Stilo Estate .. So ive had to improvise :p

Its a 1.9JTD 115 with all the trimmings. Connect Nav+, Skyroof, Split-Tailgate, Electric/Heated Seat, Electric/Heated Mirrors, Cruise Control, Climate Control, Reclining Rear Seats, Electric Rear Windows, Xenon Lamps, Headlight Washers... THE LOT!

This car is my pride and joy, and I'd be very grateful of your critiscisms and suggestions!

So.. When i got him, he was like this.

I then added a few things...

A fiat forum sticker (y)

Christened him with the name 'Gizmo', because of the sheer amount of gadgetry on it.

A new grill. I had the same emblem on my Punto Mk2, which I loved, but I think you'll agree, the Stilo just didn't carry it off. So it was only a temporary arrangement until I had decided what i wanted. I also added the little Italian reflectors.

I got some 17" Blades and got some abarth wheel centres, which have now been refurbed. Ive also got plans to have them painted black or anthracite.

I added an Abarth badge to the rear, an Italian sticker, number plate surround, an exhaust tip, and painted and fitted some Stilo mud flaps.

Then fitted sunshades.

Then found the grill I liked and added a "Powered by Abarth" badge (Tacky i know, but it looks like an S badge from an Audi) ;) I also painted the front bumper strips.

I then painted my engine covers to make the engine look as magnificent as it is.

Interior Wise...

Added some LED bulbs to the interior light front and rear, to go with the Italian theme.

I then added another Gizmo Emblem, a steering wheel knob :D, and a CD Changer with Aux out.

And now Gizmo looks like this...

Next mods are black sunstrip with FF and FSOC stickers (Just waiting on the FSOC Stickers (n)), and Colour code sidestrips and bumper strips.

Future Plans include a full leather retrim, the carzone rear bumper, four exhaust system, remap, and possibly claw alloys and maybe lowered (My flaps scrape the ground as it is :p). I'm also looking at the Schumie front bumper, but doubt it'll look right or else a lester splitter.

Did you tell your insurance? If so.. How much did it go up?

I'm Considering it, just not sure if its cost effective at the moment. Because I'm only 19, Its probably worth waiting a few years until my insurance is reasonable.

Re: GizmOwin's "Abarthed" Stilo MW

Looks good. Do you notice much difference in handling & ride quality on 17" rims ? I am thinking about changing mine from 16", but I am worried about the pot holes as I already just broke a front spring. Also thinking about a re-map, Punto60 if u read this who did yours and how much ?

Although friends & my wife take the p_ _ s out of me I still rate my roomy JTD115 wagon, especially the sliding rear seats and s/roof (I had 4 tempra wagons 2 TDS's & 2 x 2.0 Petrols). My other car now is a V8 4.7 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My Stilo also ideally needs a new gearbox mount to cure the vibration on idle and a towbar to pull my Trailer. Many more happy M.W. owners on here ?

If used to get people taking the micheal.. Calling it a hurse etc. Its a magnificent car.

As for wheels, the handling improves dramatically, but ride quality does get slightly compremised. As for the springs, this is a common Stilo fault. I suffered this twice with my 16"s, but not since the 17"s.

I think punto60 got his remap done at Angel Tuning, they do offer Fiatforum discounts i beleive. Im just not in a position to be able to justify the insurance.

if your getting yourself new alloys ;) you know where there going don't you

MAFIAT! FTW ;) Runcorn homeboi!

:D.. You will be first to know matey!

MAFIAT Runcorn :slayer:

Re: GizmOwin's "Abarthed" Stilo MW

i wouldnt go black as they will just blend into the car,
anthracite is better but dont go for a really dark anthracite try getting a slightly lighter shade.

Re: GizmOwin's "Abarthed" Stilo MW

looks good mate, but if you're waiting for the FS-OC stickers i think it might take a while, as they've been stopped and not too sure where we stand now, just make a new thread over there and we'll see what's what(y)

Re: GizmOwin's "Abarthed" Stilo MW

where did you get the grill from???????????????
i really want one and my local dealer are *****rs andwont order them inn.

I just don't understand the mentality of some parts departments - you'd think they'd want the business!

Try this dealership:

[email protected]

Tel: 01256 355221

they are good, and they do mail order.

Bear in mind that this grille was only fitted to late model Stilos and it won't come with a badge. The badge listed will be a blue 'FIAT' badge, not an Abarth one. You'll need to order that sepreately.

nicely done looks good. whats your AUX set up?? I've been trying to get so many different things to work in my stilo but its just not happening :( would love some assistance, if you could post a guide or something that'd be top dolla!
