500 Out with old, in with new

Introduction

Well, after over 15 years of ownership, it was time to say goodbye to the old Punto. Odometer read 110k, but thats a lot lower than it should be as it stopped working at 99999 miles and wouldn't turn over the sixth digit until I massaged the unit.
(Oh, the rear wiper was fine - the snow had forced the arm down and I couldn't be bothered to fix it)

Here is the replacement car, just before leaving the forecourt.

Now hoping the new 500 will last as long . . .

If you look hard enough, you may find Mk1 Punto bits in the fiat 500.

I remember going from a MK1 Punto to a Grande Punto and thinking..."this is definitely still a Punto". The 'fiat feel' is still there. Soul and passion etc!

Yeah, even the old Panda still has traces in the modern day Fiat's. The Seicento dashboard, for example. The interiors are also all very similar - regardless of Marks. :p

That car transporter has a fair few Punto's on it doesn't it?! All for the scrappy? :(

Wow, 15 years, well done. (y) I'm quite sure your 500 will last just as long. Not planning on selling mine any time soon either, just another 14 years and 2 months to go till I equal your ownership. :p

Im loving the car, especially its red paint job, im beginning to wish id got my 500 in red instead of white its ridiculous how many times ive needed to wash it off lol. but every credit for keeping the same car for 15 years, longest i've kept a car for was 2 years and that was my first car funnily enough a red fiesta 1.3 which i still see driving around :)
