Stilo 90% Vanilla

Introduction

Yup I probably have the least modified Stilo on this site, i've got a set of 17" Claws, a stubby ariel and an xcarlink iPod connector and thats it!

Looks ok for a normal car, not treated like a show car, just washed regularly and polished some of the time.

Appologies for the pics, most were taken on my 8mp phone. First pic was taken years ago probably on a 2mp phone.

Pretty much as purchased in 2003.

Just after I had the Claws refurbished.

Stilo's best angle?

Shows what little work you need to put into getting a caliper looking almost new, 5mins with a brillo pad when your changing the pads.

Standard right height, looks fine to me and speed bumps don't trouble me.

Actually takes very little to get your car this clean, but I do conceed that my car was recently rubbed down with G10 to remove a lot of surface paint splats from a neighbors fence paining fiasco. And a quick clay to remove the final bits of crap in the paint.

Toying with the light along the side of the car.

Light Stilo's look great in the sun, but the light colour doesn't show the best curves in pictures.
I like them all to be fair. :p :D

Not managed to take some quality pics of mine yet, what do you think city theme or country? You have made me want to get mine on the go now ;)

I actually wanted to do an urban sprawl pic, under artificial light as I'm sure it would show the shine better, but the leafy pic was the easiest to put together at short notice lol

yeah urban... city  :p lmao you knew what i meant anyway :D

I just need to get a camera that works now i guess and hopefully beat you to it haha :p

sent them images over to your email. Just messing around really but what the hey (y)

Few more pics today, gave the car a quick wash, and I mean quick. Benefit of a good polish it takes very little to get your car clean with a wash.

That was back in 2009. I still have the car but its slowly getting shabby. Small bits of rust forming, between the metal work and paint, namely tailgate (where the plastic number plate housing is. And bottom of front wings, and finally bottom of drivers door, door panel was replaced about 6 years ago when someone bumped me.

Car isn't really worth a respray, and I doubt a small/medium repair place would be interested in rusty bits.

However I'm fairly handy with paint, I resprayed my mini after renovating it. So i'm investing in a small airbrush, gonna get some paint mixed and I may post resulting pics, i.e if I get round to it, and if it looks good lol

Well I rectified the door bottom, bought paint via paint4U.com and the colour match is very good. Also got a tube of stopper so that I could ensure the paint was level with no dips.

Its not perfect, but its good enough for hand polished, when I finally get a nice DA polisher I'll have a proper going over with some G10/G3 and get it blended in better. All i'm really concerned with was protecting the metal work during winter.

Pic was a bit of a rush job as it was getting late in the day, kicked the mini out the garage and spent long weekend doing little bits of work and then a final wash on Monday. I'll get some new pics soon I think. Although typically in my rush to get on I forgot to take pics of the paint when it had reacted and changed colour which is why I fixed it.

Also washed my mini at the same time as it was filthy with muddy roads while the Stilo was tucked up in the minis garage.
