131 Fiat 131 supermirafiori

Good to see a proper Fiat on the website... nice project.

I am surprised that the engine from the front-wheel drive Regata fits in the 131... but I don't think you need a turbo engine - you will lose the full exhaust sound of the twin-cam. Better to do classic 70s/80s tuning with a 2-litre and nice Weber or Dellorto carbs....

Also the bumpers and wheelarches look best in black, like the classic 131 Sport/Racing models.

I'm not, they are basically the same engine.

Nice to see a 131 still kicking around. I used to own one, it was called Superbrava in Australia but it was simply a rebadge of the Supermirafiori. Mine had a 2 litre engine, and apart from a 2 inch exhaust was mechanically stock. Owned it from 1992 to 2000. I still miss the thing. It was a top car to own and drive (well apart from the rust and oil leaks ).

Thank you guys , it`s a sohc engine , i found a dohc 1.6 from regata to buy , no money for now , i want power and parts are hard to fiind , it will be easyer for me to swap it with a 2.0 turbo from delta , and cheaper too , for a while it will be my every day car , in the future it will be only a racing car , Romanian rules to homologation and stuff suck... i still miss the original twin cam , my life is full of ups and downs right now , but i won`t rest untill i will add 131 racing to my colection , abarth replica for sure , wheel arches and bumpers , i was thinking of matte white , or black , the color they have now was the car`s color when i had it , this were used on her , im glad my dad took them off when he sold it , it has been trough some accidents... me and my dad were like 2 little kids with a new toy , the car is full of pleasant memories . a problem with uploading the pics , if i can`t later tomorrow i will make for sure pictures of the engine and more

Hello everybody , long time no post ! i got good news , first of all i started a body rebuild , unfortunately with all the wellding and stuff without allot of care from me rust will come fast , so this rebuilding is until i`l have money to search for another body , maybe in another country , if it will be fine with papers maybe i`l search for a two door body , besides the body i got a 1.6 Turbo engine from Lancia Delta , one more step closer to the 2.0 turbo , i don`t have money for an abarth engine so this 131 is gonna be only turbo , i buyed the engine without the turbo or the intercooler , so that`s a reason for progress , 90% chance i`l fit a turbo from Fiat Coupe 16vt , and i allready have a Ducato intercooler , Ducato radiator as well , but i still have the body to finish ...

My pleasure to do that , i have allot of pictures , i actualy took out of it a bucket full of rust , the 1.6 sohc turned out to be a 131 one , rare engines , as i never saw one on 131 and other people mentioned it`s rare two , so it had 86 hp not 100 , but still it had plenty of life in it , it wasn`t to well looked after so it was more of a barbaque , i had something to do with it two so... shame on me , but tough engines , the sohc is going on my 600 , i`ve decided to keep it more retro , naturaly aspired , 2 carbs

Looking for a full gasket set for a Fiat 131 Supermirafiori 2000 TC.

And trying to find out if the Fiat 131 standard oil pump for the deep sump is the same as the Argenta shallow sump type. If not does anyone know where I can get an oil pump for the Fiat Argenta type shallow sump?
