Has anyone driven both? And if so, how does the diesel compare to the petrol? The diesel is only £35 a year road tax and costs nowt to run coz the mpg is so high!!!! Thanks in advance

If you do a lot of driving, consider the diesel, otherwise get the petrol. You only save £90 on road tax each year {1.3 diesel vs 1.4 8v petrol}, but diesel costs an average of £4 more per tank full. Also, diesel cars average £1,750 more than their petrol counterparts. There's a form somewhere on the internet that I found when I was looking to buy my new car last spring, that could tell you how many years you would have to own the car for diesel to pay off. For my driving habits, it would take nearly 7 years for the diesel to pay off.

| | Re: My Little Yellow Punto :D tbh with the price changes in diesel and petrol they're now level in most places and it will stay that way now pretty much...should even reverse so diesel is cheaper than petrol eventually! The 8v's work in a more dieselish manner anyway so the diesel is definately the senisble option!
