Hi FF.

I've been on this forum for about a month now, but hardly no progress has been made. I'm making this progress thread so everyone can see my beloved punto, and also to give me motivation to complete goals and lists i have to complete my punto.

I'm now 18 years old, i get 1 years ncb in july, and previously had a saxo before this. The saxo was quite reliable for a few months, but then everything when wrong with it. Eventually, about 5 weeks ago i had a crash. The other driver pulled out of a junction, luckily for me he stayed and took insurance details because he could have easily drove off and left me there.

The old Saxo:

He admitted full liability, thank God because usually people try to get out of it. So then when i got my cash, off i toodled to find a new car. Along came a punto on Autotrader, it looked lush, and i travelled 20 miles to have a look.

I loved what i had seen:

Dark blue
2000 reg
36k miles
Full fiat service history, just had a recent service
12 months MOT
2 keys :slayer:
6 months tax

But there was a slight problem with the paintwork . Even though the slightly bad paintwork, i thought, 'what the hell, might aswell buy it, hardly any miles.' The bad paintwork consisted of and black primered front wing, small dent in passenger door, and some scratches. And there is also a dent in the boot :bang:.

I thought to myself for a few mins, because i needed a car ASAP because i have a part time driving job. I decided to leave a 200 deposit then come back a week later with the other 650. Quite a cheap car in my opinion, payed 850 altogether :D.

'The bad paintwork is on the passenger side. I'll get some pics of that soon.'

Hi 1PuntoCarl2's.... welcome to The Fiat Forum, enjoy you car and your stay here, you will find it a whole different site to SaxP! ;)

TBH no driver should ever claim to be responsible for an accident, leave the blame to the Insurance companies that is one reason you have them there for, to look after you. They take a VERY dim view if you accept liability!

That can cost them big style... just exchange details and information, I'm sure you would have got his registration number if he had driven off.

Re: 1PuntoCarl2's Progress thread!

a few days ago i bought some colour coded front and rear bumped with a colour coded wing...

i have so far today managed to get the wing and rear bumper on, and going to try out with the front tomorow.

the colour on the wing and bumper looks similar to paintwork of the car, but it is still noticable different.

why is this? if i buff up my car with a good clean, wax and polish will it look as thought they're the same colours.

i'll get pics up tomorow.

Carl.

Re: 1PuntoCarl2's Progress thread!

sounds like a good plan, lets see these pics of the nasty paint.
and the new parts!

Paint fades at different rates due to sun exposure, washing habits... you name it. Might be OK after a good paint cutting session but I tried that on a red Stilo and the results were... ****e...!

Re: 1PuntoCarl2's Progress thread!

lol sorry about the lack of pictures, had a lot on at the moment.

tomorow, i'm going to finally finish fitting the new front bumper, and then give the car a good clean inside and out as at the moments its disgusting lol.

also, i dont suppose anyone knows some1 selling a decent amp that powers 400-500 wrms at 2 ohms aswell? i need an amp for my sub :D

Carl.

Re: 1PuntoCarl2's Progress thread!

Looking good mate, 100% improvement

What other plans you got for her, other than sorting out the dents/ scratches? You might be able to machines polish some of them out.

You also need to clean it, very dirty!

I need some CC bumpers :(
