Cinquecento My Metallic Blue 1998 Cinquecento 1.1 Sporting.

Introduction

Hi well, i only joined the forum just a few day ago because i purchased this little 1998 cinqu 1.1 sporting as my little project just purely as a runaround:Djust so i do not have to drive my 2.0 16v Espace about,

I am not quite sure what iam going to be doing to it its far from being a perfict cinqu and with lots of tlc i hope in time it will be,

Well it has a years ticket on it and i have it garaged and hope to get stuck in about it in the next few weeks with a good check over mechanically then a clean top to bottom and then one of my first jobs after this is to replace the Rocker cover Gasket as it running a little at the front and then and only then will i start to sex it up a little:eek:

Cheers Scuderia

p.s Anyone now if this Blue Metallic paint colour has a name???

Hay Up Folks,

Well i thought i had better update this thread seeing as Ive not been about for a year(n),not that there is anything to update on,

I think on my last post a said i would see you all this Spring 2014, but it never happened:(,for many reasons i just had other things on and my savings had to be spent on other things...................the house:rolleyes:,so i have not done a thing or spent a penny on the Fiat from my last post...................Not good, but i hope to get back on it next Year Early Spring 2015,all going well,

Ive just checked that the SORN was all in hand and i thought i had better turn the car over seeing as Ive not looked at it for 12 Months:eek:,So i primed the fuel system, flicked the switch and pushed the button...........................Bang, it fired up:D,Happy Days,

All the best Scuderia

you need to stop playing so much farm simulator mate and you would have loads of time to play fiats ;) :p

:D...........Yer i know:D,your right though,i had the time this year even when i wasn't playing FS2013 just no spare cash:(,apart from that i seem to be a little disjointed from cars at the minute:confused:,i'll get back into it next Spring.

Shame that I would use it evert day what engine is in there then

Yeah like Blu says its still road legal, what i do is mot it and tax it during the Summer Months for fun:cool:,that said, its spent more time in the garage than on the road from i owned it due to spending and working on it, but the time has come to enjoy it...........nearly:D,its hard to juggle it and my other everyday car amongst other things in life, but the time will come to enjoy it more than i have,

Its still fitted with original 1108cc Fire thats been rebuilt:cool:.........Which is the way its staying, whats done to it?.......................God quite allot, sorry but you need to go back a read through the posts:p,iam not typing all again:D,

Cheers Scuderia

Great project. Like all the modifications that you have done.

Just a question how are you satisfied with FK coilovers due to you can`t adjust the ride height in the back. How much is your Cinquecento lover to the standard.

And where did you buy universal wiper bottle.

Thank you for the answers.

Hi DB22,

Thanks......nice one,

The Silverline coilover kit if looked after......ie maintained greased and covered with protective spray for the money are good,if your looking to slam the car, then there not for you, simply because i was looking for the rally look in my project the car is most always going to be pumped up so they suit me,that said i can adjust the ride height enough for track use without going over board by slamming the car,

That said you can adjust the rear, all you have to do is buy another set of rear coil springs from FK, WHICH THEY WILL MAKE TO ORDER:),to the size your looking to drop the rear by,

The aftermarket washer bottle i bought from ebay,

Hope this helps

Happy Christmas

All the best for the 2015

Thanks for the info and link. I will be using the mostly for the track and road use so I think they will just fit fine. Because now with Eibach springs the front slicks are rubbing into washer bottle with a bit higher set up I hope that I will lose this problem.

Happy Christmas and all the best in 2015 to you too.

Update

Well there has been a little progress to report on,after the new year i thought i had a little water leak then i didn't lol but clearly running it every so often to keep the battery topped up there was always a little drip of oil and water in line with the water pump

My fault as when i changed the timing belt and tensioner i didn't do the water pump:eek: anyway at first i thought the water was coming from the coolant pipe at the back of the pump so i went up to my local Fiat Dealer to get the new o-ring and changed that for the drip to still remain there  so i guess as much it was the water pump so went to the local motor factors and got a new pump and some instant gasket sealant and replaced the old one with the new pump and on doing this i noticed where the oil was leaking from it was the camshaft pulley oil seal so i got one of them from my local motor factors and replaced it while the timing belt was off and it seems i have now got a oil and water drip free Fiat :D is that first i wonder ,

Well as much as i like good quality products i opted to go for the cheaper of the induction kits available for the car and only had to shorted the main pipe by about 2 inch's for it to fit in like a German girl friend :D rightintight :D and i have to say its sounding better than before,i have still not test driven it yet from i got the car in October  but i hope to very soon,i have also fitted a new set of number plates as the old ones had been letting water in between the layers and was making them look bad so they had to go:D

I have gave you some pic's of my ups and downs over the last 4 weeks i hope you like all the best

Scuderia
