Cinquecento My Metallic Blue 1998 Cinquecento 1.1 Sporting.

Introduction

Hi well, i only joined the forum just a few day ago because i purchased this little 1998 cinqu 1.1 sporting as my little project just purely as a runaround:Djust so i do not have to drive my 2.0 16v Espace about,

I am not quite sure what iam going to be doing to it its far from being a perfict cinqu and with lots of tlc i hope in time it will be,

Well it has a years ticket on it and i have it garaged and hope to get stuck in about it in the next few weeks with a good check over mechanically then a clean top to bottom and then one of my first jobs after this is to replace the Rocker cover Gasket as it running a little at the front and then and only then will i start to sex it up a little:eek:

Cheers Scuderia

p.s Anyone now if this Blue Metallic paint colour has a name???

oops yes I read bolts not studs

so nut cone needs to be correct and threads need to be long enough so the nuts don't bottom on studding

Ok,thanks for the reply,I thought as much,

If someone could post a pic that would great,I know for sure there is no Sei or even Centos in my local breaker with steel wheels, there all sporting with alloys fitted,I will get set,not a problem,

I've not looked into rear camber, not something I've even thought about to be honest fingers until you or Ming brought it up,

Any thoughts on camber adjustment at the rear end?

Powerflex have just come up with a solution for BMWs which I think could be used (bushes with eccentric sleeves).

Sounds like bmw have sused out then.......iam sure its possible and do-able:D,using some form of bush and bolt?,like i said its not something ive looked into to be honest,

Thanks for the heads up though:),

mmmm, will Don finally give up with the 1108 after trying to keep up with mings 16v... I guess we'll have to wait and see

He He,I really wish to keep the 1108.....maybe I could save another Cento,I was up with my old team at Knockhill with the 600cc production superbikes and got talking to a tech that used to do the BTCC and he said the way to go is a bike engine firewalled in the passenger seat well propped to a rear axle,no point in space framing the rear and fitting the engine there as speaking from experience they break chains for fun, much better and cheaper to prop it,I just don't have the room,I was planning on using my sister's place but that's a no go:(,aim happy with what I've got,

was a bike engined rwd cinq at stanford, engine under bonnet sending power to sierra rear axle. pics been posted in the cento's at stanford thread iirc.

Yeah I seen that:),it's best to keeping the prop short so there is less power loss when transferring the power from engine to axle,Iam sure it's still fast though, that's why most space framed cars using a motorcycle engine in the rear just forward of the rear axle use a chain, but like i said most will break chains for fun, another good reason to have the engine in the passenger seat well is it doesn't take much to set up the gear linkage keeping it short for quick shifting, and again keeping costs down when building one on a budget,I would have the time just not the space, not to worry,

iirc the red spare that comes with a sporting has extra bits compared to the spare provided with a cinq S to allow for the alloy wheel bolts to be used.

Yeah I noticed that when I refurbed my space saver, they have a 5mm countersunk coller welded over the bolt hole so you can use the alloy wheel bolts,
