Just up the M6 in Cumbria, bought the car from a local dealer and had the choice of plate number, so long as it began with PY04 so I don't know why it was registered with Preston plates, maybe that covers oop here too.

The car had just been delivered to the showroom a few days before I clapped eyes on it - I just had to have it! the colour really did it for me - I was in there to get my old car serviced, saw the Fiat, got a decent trade in and picked it up a week later once I'd got insurance sorted.....which is only £146 too!!! I am knocking on a bit (34) but even so I couldn't believe how cheap it is + 50 to the gallon, may not be boy racer material but I ain't a boy (bugger!) or a racer - any more. ;)

Mind you, would have been nice to be able to stretch that little extra for the funky alloys they put on 'em! Maybe some other time eh.

yeah that is one cool little car it will look great with alloys on it. My mates all hate the panda and i love it i told them i was gonna buy one and they all said id be an idiot if i did but id really love to have one but i bought a stilo instead so....

I do like the Stilo and yours does look very cool mate! but I wasn't even considering buying a new car when I bought the Panda though! :D

It's a great little car (although it feels much bigger inside and I'm a pretty big fella, 6ft & 15 stone) and it is darn fun to throw about, top engine that 1.2.

I could have had the alloys & low profiles for an extra 350 at time of purchase, wish I had now to be honest....I think the alloys retail at 400 on their own now...Ooops.

Lovely. You're only our second new Panda owner I believe. :)

cool....only two of us though?....I read that Fiat had sold in the UK alone around 5 thousand of them and 156 thousand in total everywhere else.

whats it like having the gearstick up there? I was gonna buy a new civic instead of a stilo and there gearsticks are up there, suspose it just takes getting used to.

I like the high position.......feels very natural and it didn't take any getting used to at all...yer hand just falls straight off the wheel and there it is....the real problem now is that when u get in another car and can't find the gear knob! ouh it's waaaaay down there eh! :D

Yeah, I find the gearstick to be in the perfect place and when I get in my wifes car I cant find the stick!! Never seen one that colour, looks good. I had no intention of buying a Panda, in fact I went in too look at a Stilo but was so impressed I got a Panda.

Well, I couldn't resist could I?.....just bought some brand new fiat alloys for my little Panda.....nabbed them from a dealer down south who had them in for a customer who just sadly had his Panda reposessed!!!...apparently.

Unlucky for him but very lucky for me....paid £150 for the four...brand new in the box...still need to put some rubber on when I get them but I think I will have saved a few quid even so???????

Least this way I've got the alloys & fats till November then I will put the normal wheels on over the winter months then nice new loys for spring.

btw. does anyone know an exact price for these new alloys? I think they retail un-tyred for £399 from the showroom......are they in the Brio catalogue? (I have one on order)....I know they would have cost me £350 when then car was new (as an option) but I wouldn't have the choice of changing them over for winter I guess. .... 2 sets of tyres should last me a good few years too....I only do around 8k a year.

I'll post some new pictures when I have them in a week or so.

The car already had the remote central locking fitted when I bought it from the showroom, Rich. I know this because I'd played around with it on the day of purchase - I was told they'd just received the car that week specifically as a showroom model - both the paint & remote central locking are optional extras and did pay for 'em!.....so no freebies.

btw. I picked it up with 2 miles showing on the clock.

However there was less than a gallon of petrol in the tank! first port of call, the fuel station - not too impressed by this I have to say...or the fact that I'd arranged with the dealer that they put put me the cd player from the demonstrator into mine for £50...great deal?....yeah if they had done it....gave excuses about the mountings being different, so no cd player....the car is great! the dealers aint!!!

another gripe was the rear number plate...it had one of their black mountings fitted under the plate with their url on it...as in one of the pictures.....problem was they fitted the plate too high up which left one of the original european plate holes showing at the bottom...which let water into the lid....took it back and they drilled another two holes & moved it down (even though I told them not to drill as didn't want 8 holes in the boot lid - 4 euro ones and 4 from them) - they put the plate on cockeyed this time... told 'em to remove their backing plate, fill the holes and put a new number plate on this time with double sided tape.....they did, so all is well that end's well but it's all bit naff and not the service I would have expected from a main dealer.

I just hope the car doesn't suffer any real problems in the future as I have zero confidence in their abilities.

gripes over - just waiting for those alloys now! :D

Got the wheels today and they are already rubber'd up! will take a couple of snaps when the sun shines (tomorrow?) .....looks a different car now..........one mean little sh*t! lol
