500 Meet Luciano ..

Introduction

Luciano - 1.2 Pop - Bossa Nova, 15 inch multi spokes, body coloured mirrors, Italian side stripes, chrome pack, wind deflectors, red leather with black ambience inc. split seats/headrests.

193 miles and one good wash in two days.

First thoughts - handles well, nice ride, throttle response better after 3,000 rpm but not pushing it yet, great cruise at 70 mph and fun on fast sweeping B-roads. Not read consumption yet but still showing half a tank - far better than the Alfa 156 Sportwagon it replaces!

Doesn't feel like a small car inside, interior quality helps, however hard to judge extremeties when parking... the big mirrors help and are so easy to adjust.

Loving every minute so far.
Thanks for your kind comments! Can't wait for the weekend to go play some more. Your cars will come along soon enough .. and it really is worth the wait.

Still haven't seen many on the road yet though - it'll be great fun when they all start buzzing round.

Ciao Luciano, Come Sta ????

Looking good there bud. Loving the Luciano Italian flag. Pretty nice touch :).
The white is such a good colour for the 500. Have fun (y)

The car looks great, I bet you are loving every minute. I agree with you about the parking issue - rearward visibility is pretty poor. My solution is always to go forward into restricted space if possible, and to reverse into clear space. Down here there are one or two other 500s around, but so far no-one much to wave to. But this morning I was followed through town by a red Coupe - I gave him a wave :)

I like the name badge on the back.

Nice! I soo wanted red leather. Lucky chap you are!

Enjoy!

In principle I don't like leather, but, as with so much else, the 500 breaks my barriers, and I adore these seats. Fantastic colour, and really smart. I want, a lot...
Slowly I am forming a picture of the 500 I want. Very slowly.

Buona sera .....

Porlus - bene grazie, e lei? Piacere di conoscerla! Parla Inglese?

Everyone ... grazie, molte grazie, grazie mille! - Thanks for the positive posts. Luciano is very 'appy :)

I am so pleased with the red leather too - took a gamble and ordered it without seeing it. It paid off - it is SO GORGEOUS, plus the seats are extremely comfortable and hold you in round the corners, and you can't beat that smell. Always prefer leather as a practical option too, it is hardwearing. Tried and tested on previous cars. Well done Fiat, love it!

The name sticker is an idea by our dealer. They had a selection of boys and girls names to choose from - you get a boot sticker and keyring, and they register who has taken what name (so one of each, not 10 enzos, 4 biancas, etc). Nice touch. Have never named a car before either, but it seems we are all so fond of our little cars they are going to be one of the family!

Anyway, thanks again.
Lucianco says .. Buona notte, a presto. (y)

What a great idea by your dealer! did they do it off their own backs or is it something other dealers are doing? Mine didnt:cry: would have been great to have a sticker and keyring specially for each car!! but then dont suppose BIBI would have been one of the choices:p

Yes, the dealer had the name idea, assume it was their own.
Noticed other local cars with names on (and 'Alfredo' being collected same as ours) and asked them about it. Wasn't told before as our salesman had left. Therefore had to choose a name in a hurry .. but think it suits him!!

True about BIBI. You could always get one made?

Hey saw another yellow 'bino today - with black side stripes. Looked good too.

Yeh! shame all the dealers havent done it!! would be great seeing all the names on their bottoms!!
Might be having some graphics done to BIBI but havent decided what yet! Thought about having the side stripes but couldnt decide if I liked them or not:confused: :confused:will have to have a thunk as to what I would want put on her:D, just given her a wash and dry so she is all gleaming again, yellow does show ALL the muk:(.......btw found the secret hidey hole under the passenger seat today....love it! and the other little compartment on the dash ,havent had a chance to play since I got her! people must think I'm mad sitting in the car talking to myself lol.
