Smile Bravo Sport Diesel

A couple of weeks ago, after a long struggle trying to reach a decision on what sort of new car to have to have I decided on a Bravo Active Sport in black. I added a few extra's namely; as cruise control, climate control and tinted windows, sent the order off assuming everything would be sorted out.

I hadn't heard anything for over a week which I thought was a bit strange, because usually when you want to buy something companies take your money as soon as possible. Anyway I chased them and was told they were awaiting confirmation and lead time, which I thought was odd, don't they sort these things within 10minutes of getting an order usually? I then got an email saying that the Active Sport and the Sport trims levels had been discontinued and the 1.9 engine had been superseded by a more eco friendly 1.6. This annoyed me quite a lot, as you can imagine. I then looked at the Active and Dynamic models but didn't find them as appealing as the sporty ones.

I therefore binned the idea of having a Bravo and went off to negoiate a deal for a new 207GT, which I did very succesfully and placed an order. This time, they did phone back within 10 minutes as I would expect, but said they had any grey ones available, but I could have an orange one! I definatley didn't want an orange car, so was then doubley pissed off!

Then for some reason it dawned on me that I may be able to find second hand Bravo Sport. I searched the internet for a while with no success and assumed that they hadn't sold many and that was the reason they were being shelved. I was then totally stumped about which car to chose. I didn't like the Focus of Fiesta or the Renaults, I looked at an Astra but that was too expensive and decided the Citroen C4 is middle aged boring people (no offence to anyone that may have or does own one .) So I went back to the internet and after another half an hour of searching I found a 1.9 Bravo Sport 150 in maranello red. I 'urmed' and 'ahhed' for a bit and then gave the trader a call.

Anyway, this morning I travelled an hour and a half to the garage where is was and as soon as I saw it, I just wanted to buy it. It was reasonably priced, but I managed to get him down a bit and also negoiated a part exchange for the car I have at the minute. I tried to haggle a bit and had to laugh because his laugh line of defence was; "I can't do anything else on the price, because a colleague of mine has a customer coming in during the next 10 minutes with a view to buy the car." At which point I thought the deal was too good too miss out and so I gave in and shook his hand.

They are great con-men though, aren't they sales people, because he managed to pursuade me to buy on of these inside and outside protection kit things! I am assuming it will be a waste of money, but at least I get a certificate with an 8 year warrenty! What a load of ****!

So I didn't manage to buy a brand new car but have now bought a second hand Bravo Sport and can't wait to get my hands on it. Of the choices I had including the two order I tried to place, I think I bagged the best one. Hopefully I will be picking it up this week, and so may post some pictures, but I guess you all know what they look like anyway!

Btw, this is my first post, so I apologise if I have done anything wrong, or haven't followed the forum rules in any way! No one reads the rules, do they?

Anyway, hello to anyone who bothers to read this all the way through! I would be interested to hear others opinions on the Bravo, especially anyone that owns one.
