Stilo New front on my Stilo

Introduction

Just got my car back from the bodyshop so thought I would update you on the progress.

Had a schumacher bumper fitted and the new face-lift grill too. Calipers have been painted blue and ragazzon exhaust fitted on the rear. (y)

Nice job looks good ..always felt though that the shoowee should have set itself apart more from the looks of the Abarth and never did ..fiat should have done more than just change the bumpers and add a suspension system and back box and some red paint particulaly at the price tag they sold it at

Very nice! Only noticed there, did you get your calipers sprayed?? Never noticed that before ! Blues actually very nice, I was told wehn i was getting them sprayed that they hadnt a blue which was corrosive, as in wouldnt melt from the heat.. :chin:

Where did you get them sprayed? Bodyshop? I painted them myself while leaving them on the car and found it very easy, I've just done my dad's alfa gt now too he liked them so much. I used hammerite blue and mixed some hammerite white in untill I got a colour that matched the car. Have them done a while now.

Oh and yep Phil I guess you're right it should have. More powerful engine maybe not just body. But I think the schoowee bumper should have been standard on the Stilo it just looks that bit better. Also like my new grill, the old one was boring me.

The original grill isnt boring its downright :yuck: anything is better than the original grill :D

And with regards to the engine I think the alfa V6 would have been the ideal for the shoowee

.

When the bumper was being fitted and sprayed I asked them to do it, and thats whta he said to me. Im sure it will be ok anyway, and if ya have 'em done a while and there ok now then your laughing really!

Well hammerite is the stuff most people use as its high temp paint and also if you touch your brakes after stopping the car you will find they don't get too hot so would be ok. Spray job though would cover them much better and nicer finish but you rarely see them up close and brake dust will soon cover them and dull them down even after a few cleans

Nah you can't have my wheels I like them too much!! I think they're one of the best alloys out there for any car. Paid 1600eur for them including my goodyear eagle f1s!!!! Well worth it though and I'm sure you can source them much cheaper.

Ok well maybe not just straight away but yes the paint should be ok on the calipers and I have only noticed one chip on them which looks to be done by a stone. The paint has held up very well so far after a few months.

Oh and cheers Rob(y)

I just got the bodyshop to fit it for me. They don't look too hard to fit and theres a guide on here on how to take off the original. I told them to be careful of the bottom clips though because they're weak and he looked at me as if I should not be telling him how to fit a grill. Anyways he broke the middle clip and its not sitting fully down but its good enough!
