My XF Sportbrake R-Sport

Introduction

This is my daily car. Bought her back in May and love it.

I few photos of when I collected here, with my old XF which I exchanged.

Then I made some modifications.

F-Type footrest

XFR-S Carbon Fibre diffuser

Then just a few others of her looking clean.

Since those pics I've fitted new rear silencers for the quad exhaust look.

Jags should not be estates and red is not a colour that jag has sported well - ever. So not my cup of tea I'm afraid.

I'm sure its a fantastic car but.........

When people think of jags they think of aspirational cars not load luggers. I've got a thing about red cars (all the red cars I've owned have been involved in write off accidents (never been my fault) although I might make an exception to my statement about red and jag for a red e-type roadster

Old Jags perhaps but this is a new era for Jaguar. Brushing off the old fashioned stigma they've had for a long time. Between the E-Type and the current XF/XJ there wasn't really a Jag that I liked. Too much wood veneer, chrome and just a whiff of old man.

I had a white XF Sportbrake before this but I love Italian Racing Red.

By far, the best looking estate car in the world. The only other thing that gets close to the XF Sportbrake is the Alfa Romeo 159 estate. I'd still rather have my Fiat though. ;)

Thanks.

I was gutted when Alfa stopped making the 159. I had a Volvo V60 (also red ;) ) before my last XF and the 159 was on my list before I chose the V60. But as I couldn't get it new it was a no go. Great looking car I just don't understand why Alfa stopped making it before announcing its replacement.

I do hope Alfa Romeo develop more cars soon. The downside is, I've heard they're going to switch to rear wheel drive... :/

I used to have to drive a Mercedes van for work, and I felt very unsafe knowing it was rwd.

How things change, I remember when the industry decamped to FWD and the outcry from drivers who thought it would end driving as they knew it. Seems times haven't changed much. RWD just needs a different driving style when pushing on that's all.

Vans are different though. Very high, light on the rear. Cars are a lot lower and have better weight distribution.

I still feel far safer in a fwd vehicle, lol!
