Silver Bullets replacement (caution pic heavy)

Introduction

My shiny Suzuki Swift 1.5 glx when I got it back home after what can only be described as hours of hell at the dealer

Staring down its predecessor, still bloody unsold.

The interior which seems well screwed together, but has things like exposed screwheads and no soft touch surfaces.

A 1.5VVT lump, quite nice motor but long gearing for a small car 3k at 70mph does blunt its pull in higher gears...Tho it has a timing chain so now belts to worry about

And thought i'd post a pic of the dash in the dark cos I reckon it looks cool(y)
Dunno just looking at my options atm. The swift is loads faster than 85 anyway (not on paper but far more torquey) so not exactly needing to rush into things. I'd need to save up also got a year and a bit of manufacturers warranty left to run....but includes the Intercooler, Turbo, ECU, gauges, brackets, pipework and a DV...would be soo cool but I reckon I'll go for more normal methods I.e. remap, stainless exhaust, induction first also if I wait a bit I'll be alot closer to 25 and the insurance company might not just laugh if I tell them i've fitted a turbo.

Shame it doesn't fit the M16 engines..

Stealing the thread slighty but went out for a test drive of the Sport and what a great car for the money..

Wasn't that great in a straight line but it handled great and even looked nice inside which is new for a jap car..

Thinking of one in the bext few weeks now :D

Don't see why it would not fit a M16A engine as found in the Swift Sport, same block as M15A, M18A not available in any UK models AFAIK, or it may pop up in Vitara's, can't remember rightly though know lots of folk would like to transplant it into a an Ignis Sport.

Be careful where you take it to be remapped, read on the owners club site as there is a well documented thread on a remapping session organised at one of the UK's biggest remapping companies where it was found later the remap surmounted to nothing more than putting in extra fuel and on an independent rolling road made less power than standard, even swapping in a non remapped ECU achieved more power than quoted in fact 1bhp more than supposedly remapped ECU.

There is only so much you can do on a N/A car in terms of mapping, spark, fueling and modern cars are mapped so well gains are very hard to gain hence why all good remapping companies will never quote a figure on a N/A car. I know the guy who runs the Ignis at Castle Combe runs Dastek Unichip on his after he found again independently his "remapped" race car made 20bhp less than quoted by re-mappers.

Exhausts and carefully selected induction system may yield a small improvement, but again modern air box designs are very good and its hard to gain anything without loosing somewhere else due heat induction. Better spending more on one or two well proven items than spreading money on more unproven items.

My Ignis made 120.5bhp on r/r with a Magnex exhaust and genuine Suzuki Sport induction system with carbon fiber cold air box, very expensive but a bigger improvement than I expected on the quoted 107bhp, especially given exhaust was designed by Suzuki motorbike department, first time a Suzuki car ever had input by the bike devision. I only changed as one of the exhaust brackets rusted through.

looks more like youve either brushed something and not known about it or someones clipped it in the carpark.

TBH theres a distinct lack of another colour

Theres more than shows up on photo runs downward from that around flair of the, on which a different shade of red visible, also hit it hard enough to pop rivet in wheel arch liner out, think I would noticed that from the drivers seat!

And also found a wonderful youtube video demonstrating just how long the damn gears are....he starts in 3rd...and changes up at 87.5mph...tho his is only a 1.3..not the VVT 1.5

Sounds like the typical brush in the carpark and offender parks at other end of the carpark

Right small update.

Spot the difference some new interior shots.

Main mod is fairly obvious, the fact it now has a CAT 1 alarm is not, unless I take a photo of the siren.

i don't quite think an air freshener counts as a mod:p

Well if you honestly can't spot the main mod other than the air freshener and fox combo then thats a good thing means its less likely to be nicked! Tbf chose new stereo to look as close as possible to the factory fit item but not be utter gash.
