Not mine but.....

Introduction

The Bismarck is in the bodyshop so right now I have this to get me around (was either this or a 1 series :yuck:) - a 'Mini' Cooper 1.6i. Only done 6000 miles, not a fan of the looks, the interior has some nice touches (lots of chrome and funky anthracite plastic) but some dodgy bits (the speedo is in the middle so you can't see it while driving, seats lack any solidity and the stalks are plasticky), engine's flat as a pancake (doesn't have the power peaks of the Brava's engine) and I have this irrational feeling I should be flashing at other new 'Mini' drivers. And for any GP drivers, I can barely touch the clutch rest with my big toe so it's good for tall people :D It's going back tomorrow and I can have my own car back :woot:

You can have the rev counter display the speed

My driving intructor had to do it, as too many of her students found it distracting

i did 2 driving lessons in one. a diesel one.

i hated it. steering, clutch and gearbox way to heavy to learn in. and the speedo is REALLY distracting.

stupid driving position too imo

I thought it as okay, i didnt mind having the small digital speedo, but I dunno how anyone drives using the standard one!

I did most of my learning in it, but then I advanced to a BMW 119D :p

the one series?

dunno about the 1.6, but I still remember the day when he told me to hammer it around a roundabout and up a road, to "get used to the power of the car"

Hes a great bloke, understood me well, which is always nice with your instructor

He now teaches in a 3series convertible, madman

Hmmmmm, so we can quite safely say we don't like this car?

i think its alright, my mates got a "one" chipped up to Cooper spec, and its a fine car

still, it is a Mini, which means a large mind of my mind is Shouting "hate,hate,hate,hate,hate....." at it
