Hi, can anyone tell me where I can get a track rod end for my 1997 Marea 2 lite 20 valve without going to the Fiat dealer (£37 + VAT). This seems a bit excessive as same part for a Scania 44 ton lorry is £26.

I have tried my usual sources and they all have it listed but cannot get the part. Quinten Hazell, First line do not keept it. All models of Marea are kept but not the 2 litre. It seems its even different to the Bravo with the same engine. One stockist who gave me what he thought was the right part, managed to get me through the mot but steering felt strange so took it back. Got 2 more from different stockists and they are wrong as well. I tried Unipart and they listed it but don't stock it and have never sold a single one for the 20 valve EVER.

Unipart also told me its the same one for the 20Valve Turbo Coupe and another stockist told me its the same as alfa 155, GTV and spider. Another stockist told me its the same one as the marea 2.4 JTD. Another stockist lists the 2 litre marea 4 times with a different part number for each, listing left and right as different parts, 8 different part numbers in all, yet I know that lefts and rights are the same.

Has anyone else come across this problem. Looks like I going to be fitting the old one which failed the mot. Didn't seem that bad to be honest and judging what Unipart told me they can't fail that often.

Thanks:cry:

It wasnt that difficult for me TBH it only cost me £10 for the pair.
Yes but where did you get them from and did you make sure they were definately for the 20valve. The ones for the 1.8/1.6 are smaller in the width of he balljoint and about 10mm shorter in the length. Ones for the 2 lite bravo have a kinked arm. Would have thought these would be ok if I put a pair on, then had it re-tracked. They still carrying the same weight of the 20 valve engine.

Found one at last, expensive but still cheaper than main dealer. Why main dealers try and rip us off I don't know. Not as though they make all of the parts in house for their cars is it. Here's the link of a fiat and alfa parts specialist that took me a while to find. Very helpful on the phone too.

Yes they are indeed for my 20v as they asked for the registration to double check. I should have wrote £10 each.

Im sure it was Dingbro but will have to double check exactly where they came from
