And now it is new (y)

The pressure plate had cracked in 2 places around the outside, the friction material was worn down around the edge, and the rubber in the flywheel had excessive rotational play in it.

Now its smooth and silky. A re-mapping we shall go...

Uber thanks to Barry and Paul of F.A.S.T.

Hmm, this is funny, i have some strange rattle i think maybe coming from either clutch housing or exhaust, but my gearbox/clutch housing is also soaked in something (Hydraulic fluid i believe) but my secondary slave is clean, the car drives well, the gears are sometimes chewy to get in, brakes feel alittle flat and make oddly strong smells when braking from high speed and my clutch doesnt feel like its existant yet it is definately there, i have no idea what it could be o_O

I hope you get it sorted!

Never been so glad to be wrong! The slave cylinder is not inside the gearbox! It's still on top of the box under the battery tray - but on the front of the box unlike every hydraulic fiat since the Tipo! It's there - and I've got a leaky one! Yey! I'm going to find the post with the link to the workshop manual and thank it lots!

Ahhh happy you found the problem!!!

I can't figure out for the love of god how to remove the battery tray to properly inspect my slave! :<

It's times like this the phrases "You just can't get the slaves these days" and "what did your last slave die of" spring to mind.

Anyway, to get to the pesky bugger...

1. Take out the battery ;)
2. Undo the bolts holding the brackets that hang off the ends of the battery (usually holding cables and connectors).
3. Take out the plastic drip tray.
4. Undo the bolts marked '1' in the image above.
5. Loose the bolt marked '2' in the above image.
6. The battery tray will then lift out.
