I was surprised to find out i only needed to get rear discs and pads for the 20v as theres no handbrake shoes :D

So £15 fot the pair of rear discs and £15 for the pads is what i call a result.
 
well car is now off the road. the ratchet for pusing in the rear caliper is ****ed and wont grip so i cant push it in. And i dont have an aLLEN KEY SOCKET TO TAKE THE FULL ASING OF TO GET THE DISCS OF. Now i know why i hate fiats. Every other car has normal bolts.

You have worked on the rear brakes on every model car made in the last 10 years? Wow.

What are you using to wind the calipers back in with?
 
im just going with the sunny and pulsar i used to have it wasnt allen bolts on them.

A or the winding tool im using a 3/4 ratchet and a butchered 14mm socket cut to the design of the caliper.

Got a hold of the alen sockets. and got the drivers side done fine but one of the outer caliper nuts has rounded on the passenger side so need to weld a nut on tomorrow.

Only ever worked on nissans. The joy of timing chains and decent brakes lol
 
some vauxhalls (such as corsa B sri) have the opposite to torx for the back brake mounting nuts, its like a big star headed bolt, luckily you can get a regular socket to grip them but its easy to damage the head. i've never found somewhere that sells the correct bits to get them off. so fiats are a walk in the park in comparison.

when pushing in the caliper i've had varying success using 2 tools at once, a vice which you can wind tighter easily (which needs a swivel on the foot touching the caliper) and a big junior pipe wrench to turn the caliper as i tighten the vice. its a right cafuffel but its a method thats saved me more than once. another good one is a piece of wood slightly bigger than the caliper, hammer it in and then turn the piece of wood using a big junior pipe wrench while pushing the pice of wood into the caliper at the same time. its easier than the first method but getting the bit of wood out once you're done can be a bit tricky.
 
Managed to get them done and stuck a new bolt in the caliper cause the old one is goosed.

I just held the caliper in my hand and turned it with a ratchet while pushing it in was pretty easy.

Can anyone advise me if the rear brake pipe unions on a Marea are Metric or UNF
