Still having problems with my lovely Marea. Had problem with key code/immobillizer/ecu so purchased rebuilt ecu with immobilizer function apparently by-passed, before fitting new ecu I disconnected the immobilizer as instructed, then wired up ecu and yes you've guessed its still not starting.Does anyone know if any part of the immobilizer should be connected up or should it be completely disconnected as per instructions with new ecu.Suppliers of new parts not very knowledgable. Please someone out there help.

as long as you disconected the bigger of the 2 plugs on the key code box,inside the car near the steering wheel/fuse box area,usually yellow,before turning the ignition on, you have totaly bypassed the system,providing the ecu is ok,you have a nother fault,can you hear the pump in the tank work for the first 10 seconds when turning the ignition on?if not check that side of it,

Up and running again at last. Yes there was another problem, dodgy wiring to one of the relay switches near glovebox, was probably the ONLY fault all along. Bloody key code!
