Hi, i have a marea 1,6, 16v, -97 and my differential is broken. So i have to remove the gearbox and replace it with new (or atleast a working one). When i have my gearbox out of the car i think i can open it and se what is wrong, but i need some picture, drawings and alots of guidience because i never been inside a gearbox before. I try to find some repair manual in bookstore, but i can not se that they ever made one for Fiat Marea. So if someone have spmething i be happy to recive that. As you can se from the picture the something is badly wrong inside gearbox, i think it is the side gear that is out of order.

Yes that is probably the best, but i have nothing to loose. If i can not fix it then i can buy new. But ofcourse the chanses to sucsess is if i have some repair manual. I can not find anything for Marea so i was trying in this forum were people discuss fiat.
If you cant get a manual you could use a digital camera or phone camera & photograph as you strip the box down,good for reference at least.
Well everything is easy if you know how to do it!
The biggest problem was to take out the gearbox when engine still inside car. The space was so precise but it work. When the gearbox was out then it was time to take it apart, there was som nuts you have to take away when the gearbod was opened about 1 cm. Not easy but it worked, now i have to but special tool to take the diff apart, but that will not be any problems. The biggest problem now is to get the right part from FIAT in sweden, and then get the gearbox back in that little space without destroying someting.

What is that ePER, were can i get that,even hear of some database compact 98 with carparts for fiat. Found some manuals for bmw, ford, volvo, peugot and fiat, but only for 127 and uno from the fiat family. And most of the manual missing the part of gearbox. So if someone have anything, that will be nice!
Well i have some bad news. I call fiat in sweden and ask for the differential gear, but they say that i can only buy the pakage, the differential house with all gear in it. This will cost me about 800$. I can find a used gearbox for less than 700$. So the cheep way turn out to be the most expensive way.
