Sensor on diesel fuel filter housing?

Does anybody know what the sensor on the diesel fuel filter housing of a TD100 is and where I can purchase a replacement for a reasonable price? Broke the terminals whilst changing the filter at the week end and have temporarily jury rigged it! Looks like a brass sealing plug with two terminal protruding. Fiat dealer want £80 + VAT

If it's the filter heating connector I wouldn't be bothered at all.. If you consider the temperatures in UK it doesn't make any sense to pay so much money for something you don't need anyway..I had a diesel TIPO without any filter heating, and it started in -20 with no problems..And there is no chance of such temperature being in UK..Bye!

Attach a photo if you can. It's always easier to diagnose when you can see the thing.

If it is the heater then yes, it will run however it will run better with the pre-heater fixed as atomisation of the diesel works better when its warm and thinner.

Thanks people for this incredibly fast and useful advice - much appreciated. Will post an image on return from Easter hols.

Scrapies for me ASAP.

Cheers

Allan
