have a 1998 weekend with a duff rear wiper power seems to be coming to the wiper motor ok. anyone know of any quick fixes for this prob ??
thanks in advance

I too have a 1998 weekend and the rear wiper seized up last year. Power was getting to it but it was rusted inside and couldn't move. My trusty fiat garage assured me I just needed to encourage it to move by hand and it would be fine - which it was but only for a month or so then it would stop again. Eventually I said to replace it at the next service ... and it cost a fortune for a new motor, grrrr

These can easily be repaired, without the expense of a new one.Remove the old motor and disconect the wiring, then remove the motor cover.Inside will be full of grease.remove the cogs and you should then be able to drice the metal arm that the wiper blade bolts to out of the plastic sleeve, this is where they seize, between the metal and plastic bits.clean themetal part with some steel wool and wd40,refit and regrease, put back togeather and hey presto, working motor.Whole job took me about 20 minutes to do but saved a fortune, and 12 months later, still works.

Saved yourself about £230(y) - found a receipt amongst the history of my motor from Caledonia (and that was 2 years ago:eek: )
