Issue:

after it's winter "rest" , the marea is running well,

makes a vague spooling noise.. but performance is certainly "leisurely"..

did 250 miles yesterday.. @45MPG - - but hills were hard work..

I'm guessing either a split hose.. or a mouse nest..

I'll have to refer to the Porter Manual.. as I've never needed to do turbo investigation before..

apart from a Tipo with an intercooler full of oil.. still went better than this:bang:

Lack of push is often a leak after the turbo, as before makes little difference, apart from letting unfiltered air in.
Start by removing the hoses from the turbo and peering inside.
Then if all well, refit hose and follow pressure supply from turbo to engine. Check all connections and hose condition. If it has an intercooler, route will be longer.
If not found any leaks, start engine and flex each hose, as cracks may then give engine speed changes.
Does it have an EGR? Is it stuck?

If I think of anything else, I'll add it later.

I would expect any shortage of oxygen, due to any number of reasons, to be accompanied by a cloud of black smoke whenever the boost is expected; Blocked filter/hosing restriction, boost leak, EGR stuck open.

how is the exhaust note, any signs of a leak there? maybe the turbo is lacking input.
any idea from the MES on the old laptop comfuddler?
