Hi,

this is my first post here but second Marea!!!

I have just got a V reg Marea 1.6 Weekennd 28k on the clock for £2150 not a bad price, the car is in a good state!

However, i need to upgrade the central locking which already does all doors and boot to a remote central locking version.

I have seen lots of Ebay options etc.. but can anyone tell me how it works on a Marea.

Does the Marea have a control centre or somthing in the drivers door for the alarm or remote module to plug into.

I only want to spend £30-40 quid for a cheap one!

Thanks

Daniel

Hi,

i bought this off ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Remote-Centra...010199222QQcategoryZ15329QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

fairly easy to fit, very good range and a good quality fob and button, easy to fit.

All you really need to do is take a permant live from the fuse box behind steering wheel and trace the two wires from the drivers door. 1 is white and the other is blue. These are the open and close and can be found under the plastic kit plate on the drivers side (cant remember if white is open and blue is closed, if you get it wrong just swap over 50-50 chance of getting it right).

then run the two indicator wires to the hazard switch so that the indicators flash.

Some of the electric bods on here may have another way, buts how i have done it on my last 2 mareas

cheers

I have found a really good system from META;
