My newly purchased TD125 flashes its brake fluid light under heavy acceleration. Im guessing this is because the fluid level is low and it is sloshing about, triggering the low level light.

Am I right in thinking that the brake fluid and the clutch fluid are both topped up in the same place? If the level is low, will I notice an improvement in the clutch action if I top up the brake fluid (or have I got the wrong end of the stick)?

Also, should I use synthetic or mineral brake fluid (Ive no idea what is currently in the car because I bought it used at the weekend).

Cheers, Neil

you have got the wrong end of the stick(unless its something unique to the marea ;) )!
get the brake fluid topped up ASAP,the resevoir will be on the bulkhead of the engine bay.
if the brakefluid is an unknown quantity you may be better just getting the fluid replaced

whats up with the clutch action?

Top it up using, Brake and clutch fluid TOP 4 Not 3
It will not improve the clutch when topped up if air is already if the system.

The top of the brake fluid bottle has a symbol similar to this on top of it: (o)

Ive read in the handbook that this mean to use synthetic brake fluid only, otherwise serious damage could occur to the seals and gaskets within the braking system.

Im just hoping the previous owner (or whoever serviced the car for him) followed the instructions, rather than filling it with mineral brake fluid!

Where will I find the clutch fluid bottle? Im yet to get a Haynes Manual

There is no clutch fluid bottle.
They are both run from the same container.

That flashing light means the car is broken and you may aswell sell it to me as scrap :p

Really?! I can't believe I bought a dud!

Im so annoyed. How much will you take to tow the car away for me?

I think that mine does the same, and also my previous one.

I think it is just an electrical gremin.

All my fluids are fine!

I also used to get the seat belt sensor coming on under hard (150BPH) accel.

It is probably ok

Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor for a few days and see if it comes back on. If the light does not come back on then the fluid cap it is.:D
