Hi all,

Got a Fiat Marea Weekend SX 1.6 16v.

Currently when the car is cold it runs fine and has no issues. However as the temperature goes up, and the temperature hits half way, the car starts missing and the red injector light comes on (flashes at times). It may seem that it might been even dropping a cylinder, or two.

Any reason for this only to happen when the car gets hot?

Thanks for any help

Check your spark plugs/coil pack for arcing. If the insulation is breaking down you will arc once the engine warms up.

You may also want to pull the plugs and check their condition.

Get back to us with the results.

Thanks for your reply polecat.
What do you mean by coil pack and arcing?

Cheers

your car is suffering heat generated mis-fire.either an insulation problem with your HT leads, plugs or coil pack.check the earths at the coil pack, and all related main earths.there is also multi plugs for the main electrics including injectors.i would have a diagnostic to trace the cause.

Crank position sensors can also be heat sensitive if they are starting to fail.
