Well i did it i finally got round to doing the cam belt on my 20v, 6 hours and a great deal of satisfaction later. The photo how to on the forum is invaluable and is spot on (y) , thanks a lot. The only thing with doing it with the engine in situ is that it is impossible to get the tensioner off the engine there was just not enough give to get it off its mounting bolt so the old one was kept on, after a feel of the bearing everything seems solid enough so fingers crossed. To any one thinking of saving your self anything from £500 to £1000 on this job go for it its a doddle. :)

Glad it was of help :)

I couldn't bring myself to spend a fortune having it done in a garage, thought the guide might be useful. Was a bit apprehensive before I started, but it's not that difficult, really :)

Does anybody know where this "How To" post has gone to?

I used it a few years ago when I last changed my cambelt and today, 74,000 miles later, I'm going to do the job again. The only problem is that I can't now find the guide!!!
