Hi Folks,

Just got my '98 Marea Weekend for €750 or about £500 on saturday. My first car and I love it!!! Such a beauty.
Can't beleive Fiat have discountinued them, their new cars are less original looking.
It's in fine condition, but well worn on the inside, beige interior, light brown dash.
Well as I've nothing to lose, I'd like to paint the interior a nice Matt Black, and put new Black Cloth on the door panels and perhaps some on the dash.
There's a Halford's down the road but I am in Dublin.
I can buy new seats off the Knackers or Breakers Yard for €50 so that should be ok.
Can I just say what a great forum this is, my car came with no manual, and I've been frantically searching the net for info, found you guys yesterday and I don't have to look anymore.
So thanks to the guys that set it up and the moderators i.e Polecat

Marea's have to be one of the best buy's around

Let us know what you intend doing to it and post some pics. You'll need a couple of coats of plastic primer to ensure a good finish on the dash.

Well in saying that I got the guy down from €1500.
I took the centre console off and I've sprayed that black, couple of coats of an interior spray that I'm told doesn't need a Primer, but I think I'll go with the Primer for the rest of it.
centre ashtray won't stay up, doesn't seem to be any catch, but it's a minor niggle.
I'm planning on starting up an Irish version of Pimp My Ride,
called Scanger (Scumbag) Me Banger!!!!
I got laquer aswell which I'm reluctant to use as I don't like the shiny look, think it's a bit dangerous too. But I think I'll have to as a small scrape could look nasty without laquer.
getting the seats recovered in padded black velour on saturday, gotta love it , on saturday which is costing €150 and that's the fitted price.
And a new set of tyres, €65 each with discount, but I'll phone around for a price on the tyres.

There's a really good scrapyard in The Heath. that's in Laois. 30 mins out the N7. they are really cheap for Fiat bits. i got a Marea centre console, new headlining, a new electric sunroof and some other bits that had worn out. Whelans Dismantlers.

FM104 already did "Skanger Me Banger" so they'd probably do you for nicking their idea!

If you want some bling for the Marea Weekend. they did a run out model called St. Maritz or something similar in 03. had chrome roofrails and chrome rear light clusters. not to my taste but someone must like them
