Hi guys, unfortunately I'm having some serious issues with my car, in fact when the outside temperature is cold, like under 15°Celsius or maybe even a little more, the engine would start, instead today, since the outside temperature was higher than 20°C it didn't start at the first try, bu at the second one.
And if it's even hotter, like 25-30°C, it would take on average 6 to 7 tries before the engine starts, sometimes even after several attempts it wouldn't start.
Do any of you know what is the cause of this problem ?
That would really help; luckily where I live the winters are extremely cold, however I cannot use the car only in the winter, there are other seasons too.

Since a couple years ago I purchase a new car, I'm considering scrapping the Marea, since it costs me 600 € a year between road tax and insurance and light maintenance, I've already gotten all the information, in my city there is this guy that owns an authorized treatment facility and he'll be happy to scrap the car for free.

However, should I or any of you guys find a solution that, even if it's expensive, can fix the problem and guarantees that I won't have this issue for the years to come, then I'll genuinely consider keeping the Marea.
After all it breaks my heart to have the car scrapped, it represents so much memories for me, still, you know, I don't really want to keep it and not use it.

Does it start right away as start attempts go (nothing -> nothing -> starts right away on third try) or does it start firing on one or two cylinders trying a little before finally starting?

Crank sensor going bad or loose/gapped wrong?

Few years ago I had a similar problem. It occured (occasionally but not every time) when the engine was warm but never when the engine was cold. One time it occured again, and after several attempts it finally started but the engine fault light started blinking. At this point I had to do something about it, and I did. I discover the crank sensor was dirty, as you can see in the picture. At the top most teeth there is no air gap. After cleaning the sensor the problem vanished.
