Hello everybody i am new so i hope someone can help me i have phoned FIAT but they won't give me any advice unless i pay lots of money for it...so whats new..
I want to turn my infernal alarm off..i have a 20v 2001 marea saloon i'm fed up with checking key fob whenever i want to enter car also whilst sitting in car after alarm has set itself i then set it off when i move...anybody help me please its driving me crackers...thank you

Hi Polecat,
Thanks for reply, unfortunately my model does'nt have switch..i checked in my handbook it says not on uk spec models so i booked it in to FIAT tomorrow they say they will do 2 hours at it at £78 an hour then abandon at that point with no quarranttee that they can isolate the siren...not very satisfactory i say but if they can do it i will be pleased even at that money...also went to kwikfit for an oil filter change but they cu  dnt do it as filter is tucked away and CAT needs to come off ...so again FIAt are doing it at £60+VAT....after just spending over £500 yesterday on tyres plugs airfilter tracking i am getting the message about FIAT costs...

Sorry I missed this earlier.

You can change the filter yourself, it's a bit awkward but not that bad. Fit a Champion F107 filter rather than the stupid little Fiat one, it costs the same and is twice as long so you can get to it easier next time.

Funny about the keyswitch, it seems to be random as to who gets them. I've got one but others don't? My alarm died a few weeks ago, i'll get to it later I suppose.

Thanks again...wish my alarm would die like yours...anyway not sure if this is a trait of the 20v but as i have just changed plugs airfilter i now find that as i blip the throttle it ...WHEEZES just for a split second then revs away sounds really like a sucking sound car only done 47k...Whats the plug gap size?i fitted them straight from box...much obliged for your interest.

Plug gaps should be 0.8.
I have just fitted Iridium plugs on mine and it has made a difference. :)
Check your injector fuel pressure valve. Take the pipe off the manifold and check for fuel. If you see any then it's likely that you have a hole in the diaphragm that will slow the fuel pressure response and give you throttle lag.

Good luck.

Dave :)

Hi dave,
thanks for that...who makes those plugs? also being a 5 cyl engine you have to buy 2 packs of 4 thats my experience anyway..be good if we could pass those spare plugs amongst ourselves so long as we all use same ones...cheers again
