Removal of the frame is simple

1. Disconnect wishbones from struts

2. Lower complete exhaust
And the transmission tunnel guards and disconnect gearbox mounts

3. Remove 2 bolts that hold the frame to chassis either side of car

4. remove 8 bolts at the rear of the frame

5. Wiggle it out

Tools you will need is a socket set and a breaker bar (impact gun also helps)

cheers, this'll come in useful very soon, as soon as i have gone out and bought an 18mm spanner for the front 2 bolts, they are on too tight and my socket just slips off under the force.

God I miss my wagon :'(
Chris the marea will probably use Alfa hubs with 5 studs and double wishbone setup and rear frame

Will be a howling cruiser rather than a track day monster ......that is reserved for the Bravo

I'm slightly confused with all your cars now..... Your sig seems to report this car as a Marea Turbo... but am I correct in thinking you stopped the conversion before redoing the engine, and it will instead become a V6? And some of the good bits went to the 20V Turbo Bravo that will become the track car?

So this car still has a decent engine somewhere? And the red Marea Weekend has been stripped and scrapped?

Can we please have a concise summary?? !!!

bluejohn125, the car atm is abut hit and miss, the guy that had the 3.2 V6 busso for sale lied and it was a 2.5 with a GTA intake plenum, having 2 bravos, Marea saloon and a GTV to look after it seems the Marea project has come to a stand still, currently breaking any parts that anyone may need

The original Busso designed engine was 2,5L, the rest are derivates...

I'm just a bit surprised that you don't just put it back together relatively standard... I thought you had done all the cosmetic mods and basic mechanical improvements, and you took the standard engine out to put in a Turbo version or a V6?

If it was a standard runner I'm sure it could be sold on and saved??

I didn't just take the standard engine out it had completely blown the bottom end when the timing belt snapped
The plan was to take the Turbo engine and wiring from the bravo Turbo and transplant into the Marea , but on closer inspection the bravo shell was mint, so the hunt began for a GTA 3.2 V6
Only found one and that turned out to be a 2.5 with the gta intake plenum........

Plus a friend of mine bought a bravo that needed a whole new front end soon the Marea donated it's parts to a worthy cause as can be seen in the picture ......

At this moment in time the car is a bare shell with only half the interior left
Would have loved to put it back on the road because to me it's special
That's why it's still sitting in the compound ATM and not rotting in a scrap pile somewhere

But with 2x Bravo HGT 1x Marea HLX saloon and an Alfa GTV to look after the Marea Weekend just needs too much work :'(

OK I see now that you've had the 5-pot engines on both of your Weekends go bang... I though (correctly) that you had scrapped the red one but also I remembered (correctly) that you had got a decent replacement engine to fit (from a Coupe). It's good that your mate's Bravo has benefitted from some of your parts and effort, so hopefully the Marea isn't completely finished although clearly your collection has gone a bit mad!

Is the Alfa a keeper or a temporary indulgence?

The GTV is temporary as I bought it and now the insurance company in with has decided that theyvwint insure me so it's either going into storage or I will have to sell on :'(
