Evening All,

picked up my new Marea today, but i think the PAS pump is shagged as you cant turn the wheel at tick over, but you can at higher revs. Only started when i got back home and was suck in heavy traffic etc.

My new stationary car is a Marea 2001 1.9 JTD 110sx

Previous thread somewhere a guy was quote something like £600 all in .

does anyone have any experience with PAS pumps and cost etc, i am covered for the first £250 for each claim.

well your getting ahead of yourself.check the belt condition/tension and fluid levels before thinking of a new pump

Some systems need to be bled too if you have to refill - normally something like slowly turning from full lock to full lock a couple of times.

Checked the belt and it is nice and taught, the fluid level is about .5cm below the min, will topup today. Any advice on type of fluid? handbook only says use the same as in the system.

Have had my partner check the level of the fluid as i went from lock to lock and she said the level never really changed, definatly didnt drop etc.

Just in case it is the pump, does anyone know if the pump is the same on all Bravo/a and mareas as there a 2nd hand one on ebay for £65.
