The timing belt snapped on my marea 98 1.6 sx . The garage asked £1000 to fix it. I ask you, do you think i should have it fixed or go for another car as it doesn't worth to pay that to have it fixed? Also, if i decide to have it fixed, will the car be ok later on or it will be just headache for me?

a grands a lot of money but if theres engine damage. could always try to source a whole engine as it may work out cheaper.

once the belt and engine damage is repaired there shouldnt be any probs with it though

Agreed, source another engine. It shouldn't be difficult to find one.

Oh, and bad luck. How many miles are on the car and when was the belt last changed?
