Hi

I have a 20V HLX Marea Weekend whose aircon no longer seems to work. i.e. I switch the aicon on and the venst pump out at the same air temperature as when aircon is switched off.

Visited a local aircon specilist who said that the pressure in the aircon system was fine and also the compressor is working, he thought the problem laid in the fact that the engine fan does not start with the aircon whilst stationary.

Therefore he is ordering a new sensor/relay to sort this out. He said that when the car is a low speed the fan must whizz round in order to supply fast moving air to the condensor (I guess).
However, surely the aircon would work when I drive at high speeds then?

Does anyone have any other clues?

Everting else seems to work fine (incl. ex. temp sensor)

Not sure about that problem but you can test his theory by lifting the bonnet and starting the ac. It should run cold for a minute until the heat exchanger warms up .
