Well it's finally happened the tin worm has been at the front N/S corner behind the wheel arch. Started out quite small but as always happens after a good poke its now much bigger. My question is, do I need to deactivate the air bags before MIG welding??

I've just disconnected battery and MAF (20v so near battery), welded it on two different occasions and have had no problems.
Two patches under the front seats (no rubber mats on car...) and the corner just infront of rear seat.
Nothing near the engine, but the front patches were pretty close to the airbag ecu.
Airbag system includes the seatbelt pretensioners I were more worried of than the airbag itself. Workshop manual tells to disconnect and remove them from the car, aswell disconnect engine ECU before welding, but I was lazy.
Some damage and my fancy setup.

 Just realised how I spelt welding in the heading

Anyway, I disconnected the battery and then the ECU multi plug.
The welding went OK and my airbags are still where they should be (y)

Connected it all back up and everything is fine, apart from the alternator that sounds like a 1950 flying saucer, but thats another story.
