Hi,

I have a bit of a problem with my marea remote alarm, both key fobs have stopped working, no light comes on, I have changed the batteries and still no luck. Found out what was wrong with one of them, as a bit of the circuit board fell off but don't know whats up with the other one. This is a prob in it's self however the main problem is that the car is locked and the alarm activated, can anyone help with deactivating the alarm without using the remote. The manual says use the key in the fuse box under the drivers dash, I don't have a key and when I looked i don't have the switch under the dash either so even if I had a key not sure where to put it!

I can drive the car, but the alarm keeps going off... not really a good situation to be in...

Any advice???

Cheers

Jo

Hi,
The key switch should be in the main fuse box. It is a circular one and is normally covered by a plastic cap so may not be that obvious. If you find it then you should be able to bridge it out.

The next solution would be to disconnect the alarm pack from behind the offside front wheel arch if the immobiliser does not kick in.

The key fob switches tend to drop off the circuit board. If you need a new fob you'll have to go to Fiat.

Sorry I can't be of any more help. Good luck.

Hi

Thanks for that, RS pilot came to the rescue tonight with his trusty solder, and the switch is now back on the board and with a new battery the remote is working fine, so my ears have stopped bleeding. I am still going to hunt around for the override switch and will post a picture when I have found it. Thanks for the advice.

If it's any help, I don't think UK cars have the override switch. My fusebox has a space with on/off markings where it looks like you should have something attached according to the handbook, but it ain't there.

That might explain why I couldn't find one. Nice of them to point this out in the manual.

I still would have thought there is some kind of overide system though.
