Chaps, i have decided to keep teh wagon, i had someone look at it teh other week and offer the full asking price but couldn't take it LOL so it looks like it will stay with me, never had that before, anyway, one of teh advisories was anti roll bar bishes and drop links, now the drop links ar e easy but never ventured near teh anti roll bar, are they easy to do? is it worth me doing them or shall i drop it into poweritalia?, also my airbag light is on (my fault) but i want to turn it off what do i need to do this, i read somewhere that i need fiatecuscan and some lead but i have no idea what lead i need, my car is a 98 147 20v.

Thanks in advance for any help or tips you give me.

Cheers

Robin

Same issues as seen on the multipla - where people have tried all sorts!

The ARB bracket is 2 parts. Top and bottom spot welded together with the rubber bush between them. This is then bolted front and rear to the front subframe.

The rubber wears out and seems to move around in the bracket which causes knocking. You can't buy the brackets or the bush from Fiat - they only sell a whole ARB arm! You can buy original spec bushes from various places:

Or you can get poly ones - the Croma ones are supposed to be a good fit:

To fit them, you first need to undo the bolts holding the bracket to the subframe about half way, then split the bracket with a big screwdriver or chisel. Then undo the bolts the rest of the way. Take the ARB out and then you can replace the bushes. Fitting is the reverse, however you might need to clamp the brackets down with a G clamp to get the bolts in.

Mine is knocking like a poltergeist in a hammer shop - so will probably try the Croma poly bushes first.

No need to drop the subframe, it has holes so you can access the 13mm bolts holding the brackets. I undid them on both sides and slid the bar to the sides as much I got it to gain easier access and split the brackets. I also filed the guides on the upper bracket to more cone shape so it just bolted right back in (youll understand once you have the thing split). ARB stays in the car.

with the 20v engine the whole sub-frame has to be lowered from the car as there is little room.

its much easier to buy a ARB from Eibach with their poly bushes
the car feels really stiff in te corners

where did you get your antiroll bar from? i might look into this

ePER list the part no for the Bravo HGT and Coupe as the same, but the 20v Mareas as different.

Surely they must be interchangeable and the only difference must be in thickness of the bar itself so the Marea in standard form is softer than either the HGT or the Coupe?

The bravo HGT is different, i was thinking about changing to a bravo HGT item as i could then use coilovers, the drop link on bravos bolt through the lower arms as the marea droplinks bolt onto the shock on the shock mount, also the drop links are different too, i may look into this over the next few months so i can then run bravo coilovers on the wagon as i would like more adjustment on the suspension, still i have no bangs or any noises at all, i have till august to sort it out which i will do by then (just want it to get warmer now! so i can make a start)
