Hi all, I just bought a 97 Marea weekend 1.6 16v,

Amoung other things (like a blown head gasket) the speedometer is not working, is it a cable or electronic sensor in these cars??

When replacing the head gasket what else would I need to do? I'm getting the head skimmed and replacing the timing belt and thermostat plus a normal servce (oil, filters and plugs).

Your car have electronic speedometer ..... you should check wehicle speed sensor and wiring/fuses between sensor and instrument panel.

It could be a several causes of this mailfunction but you have to try .....
