Hi
I'm investigating my illuminated air bag light. I have tried to reset with Fiatecuscan but it stays on and wont clear the fault.
I was interested to read that the seatbelt pre-tensioner cables/connectors can affect this. Where exactly are these cables/connectors located?
Many thanks

The connectors are located below the seats and at the sensors INSIDE the seats. The latter is diffficult to check without dismantling the seats. You can first try and check the ones below the seats. Hve you vacuumed the car recently beloe the seats, you could have hit a connector.

If it is not bad contacts it can be faulty sensors which need to be renewed (big job). There are units on the market whcih replace the sensors, these plug in the connectors below the seats. Disadvantage is that the air bag will get activated even if nobody is sitting on the seat.

Any other suggestions by other members are welcome of course!

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply.
I checked the connectors and everything seems fine. I will try and clear the fault again.
I have a terrible feeling that this marea is going to the great scrapheap in the sky.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. Ive checked and cleaned all the connections. Still cannot clear the code with Fiatecuscan.
Plus Ive got one Lambda sensor down. Worn front disks and pads and various other problems. I really dont think its worth the time and money for a car which still may fail its MOT.
Regards
