Hi Fiat members,
I recently changed my cambelt and full kit on my Marea 1.6 16 v w reg and was confused by the belt tensioner. apparently you adjust the tensioner till the indication arrow on the tensioner is aligned with the dot, I tried this but the belt seemed to be extremely tight and the arrow had not moved from it's original position so I took advice from a member and set the tension at 5mm play in belt which seemed reasonable but now I am getting a whistling noise at 3000 revs.
Could it be the belt needs to be tighter or have I been sold a faulty bearing? Any advise would be appreciated as the whistling is driving me mad Thanks in advance.
