I HAve noticed a large number of threads regarding the cambelt change, and the

scarily high price on doing it!!

is this the same for the 1.9TD engines??

does anyone know roughly the cost to replace rthe belt and the reccommended intervals??

ah ok - well put it this way the norm price afaik for a cambelt change is about £1300 ish at a coop specailist can get it done for around £400 so aslong as you find somewhere near that is a reasonable garage, i shouldnt worry too much

the timing/cambelt is no where as bad on the 19td as it would be on a 20 20v a mechanic should be able to do it 3 hour or less i am a plant mechanic ie.. diggers, dumpers, rollers and i did my bro in 2 1/2 hour np.

Hi, Murtagh1,
I want to change the cambelt on my 1.9 TD Ulysse, but can't find the timing mark details anywhere.
:bang:
Done this job on several cars before (including my fun car -a 3litre V6 Alfa be-ache)
Do you have the timing details?

Hi Mart,

I'm not far from you, East Berks.

I have recently bought a Marea TD100 Weekend and am very happy with it so far. I haven't acurately checked the fuel consumption but gut feeling is that I am getting 500+ miles from a tank which suggests around 40mpg. For the mix of town, B road, A road and (often fast) motorway this doesn't seem too bad.

I am buying a full timing kit from Steve at Alternative Autos - just waiting for it to arrive now - and will fit it myself when it does. If I encounter any problems, I'll post on this forum.
