on our weekender via the central locking tho i can here it clicking as if it is but it opens ok with the key all the other doors are working fine etc..i have a 2001 w/ender 110 sx any ideas lads..

Mine does the same, I can hear the solenoid clunking over but the boot stays unlocked most of the time. I have had it apart and the solonoid operates a lever which locks/unlocks the tailgate, on mine it seems to throw into the locked position but then moves back to the starting position which of course puts the lever back into the unlocked position. I keep meaning to check the price of a new solonoid but so far haven't got around to it. I am lucky enough to live in a place where it doesn't matter if your car is unlocked so I just lock the doors and set the alarm with the remote if I am at home and use the key to check the tailgate is locked if I park up away from home.

hi well i dont use the boot alot as it stands but i checked it today and the things working perfect but yes its the same symptons as you .

Sounds like we may both need a new solenoid. I would like someone to confirm to me if I am right as to how it is supposed to work before I buy one.
As I said above, when the central locking is operated the solenoid shaft pushes out and moves the locking lever into the locked position. I think it should then stay in that position but on mine it immediately returns to the unextended state unlocking the boot as it does.

Can anyone out there confirm to me that when the solenoid operates to lock the boot it should stay there and not return?
