Anyone know where it is? Still need to get myself a manual

Car doesn't make a sound when you arm / disarm the alarm. Unfortunately it doesn't make a sound when you set the alarm off, either.

Anyone know how to reprogram it? I know the learning the key bit, but there's apparently a setup where you can change when it beeps etc.

Sound like the sirens knacked. Its located behind the front passenger wheel arch spat. Just behind the wing repeater. Its a siren & ecu built in one. The setup procedure is only for setting the country standards up, but it is complex, its much less work to change the settings with the dealer computer.Thats the only thing which can be changed on marea alarms, not like stilos.

i fully agree, its probaly knacked, they all are. Wheel arch position its mounted in is pathetic. My advice would be to scrap that system and fit a seperate system, It might save you money in the future, and im sure fiatexpert would agree!!

An update on this one:

Finally got around to taking the wheel, arch liner and Fiat alarm off. Took the alarm apart, was pleasantly surprised to find that it's a battery backup jobby.

Anyway, the sounder was open circuit. Managed to find the break in the voice coil wire which fortunately was right where it comes off to connect to the fly leads. Unwound one turn to give me some room to work and managed to solder the end back on to the contact.

Works a charm now, am glad as I didn't want to have to fit another alarm. I'm keen on the in-built thing too, with just the one key for the car and no extra remote fobs etc.

That's all the electrics working now, wonder what's gonna fail next. To quote a Fiat guru:
"You can have some of the electrics working some of the time, but you can't have all the electrics working all the time" :D

Have you got any photos of how you fixed this? I have exactly the same problem! The doors lock, the indicators flash, but no sound. When the alarm 'goes off' the indicators flash but again no sound. I would rather fix it than replace it. On another note mine goes in for an MOT and service next week. It is getting very close to the Cam belt change

I've lost the pics I'm afraid - bloody camera phone.

It goes a bit like this though:

Take off passenger side front wheel and arch liner.
Undo the 3 nuts holding the alarm in at the top of the wing. 2 are underneath, one is accessed from above - find it under the wiper linkage plastic cover.
Disconnect the two multi-plugs.
Take the alarm out.
Remove the metal fixing bracket.
Undo the 4 screws holding the alarm together.
Carefully lift off the siren and unplug it. Watch out as the back-up bateries are held onto the siren too - don't unplug them.
Measure the resistance of the siren - should be around 8 ohms.
If it's open circuit, remove more screws and fully dismantle the unit. The voice coil is formed around a small tube, don't bash this as it needs to locate in the cut-out in the magnet.
Trace the thin wires and see if you can find the break - mine was gone just where the thin wire joins the coil.

I unwound one turn and reattached the wire to the flexible fly-leads - you need to scrape off, or with a lighter/match burn off the enamel on the fine wire before soldering.

"Reassembly is the reversal of dismantling".

Hope this is of some help.

Thanks! When I get a chance (a few minutes to myself) I will give it a go. I may even take some pics, you never know! :)
