Hi,
I have a 2002 1.9 JTD ELX Weekend (just WHO thought up THAT name!???)
and I was wondering if it is possible to install a third rear inertia reel seat belt, instead of the lap strap in the centre?
Has anyone done this? How difficult a job is it? And is there a specific make of seat belt to use?

Many thanks!
Kat.

Oh, I live in SW France and there are Loads of Weekends down here. In fact, I think that after the 3 main French makes, Fiats are the most popular!
Saw an old 500 the other day!!!:D

Hi I have a 2001 1.9 JTD ELX Weekend and it has a third inertia seatbelt it comes out of the top of the backrest. If they are all like that over there pop over to England and get a backrest from a scrapyard for not a lot of money.

Thanks for your reply.
It is actually a UK spec car. Coming back to the UK isn't really an option as we are 400 miles south of the Channel! I do however know a big scrapyard near where I live, so I'll pop in there and "ask" (they no parlez anglais!).
I got my LHD headlights from there - cost 100 Euros, which I didn't think was too bad, as I could not source them whilst we were still in the UK.

I would also be interested (as would my hubby) how you upped your bhp!
Thx
Kat

so parts are easy to get over there then??

I've only had to get the headlights up to now, but when I asked about them, the ones the guy got off the shelf were the old type, without the 'projector beam', so he went out to the yard (which was massive) and took the correct ones out of one of the Mareas which hadn't been broken yet!
I guess its like a scrappy in the UK...hit & miss on any given day, but as I said above, there are loads of Weekends on the roads. (and therefore, given the way that the French drive, it stands to reason that there are quite a few crashed ones, too!!!) LOL!

I cant understand why your seatbelts should be like that. To get more power and more mpg I got it remapped but if theres no one around there does it there is digital plugin gadgets you can buy. They are on ebay but I dont know anything about them the only one I can recomend can be bought from http://www.elitetuning.co.uk/ should be about £130 you may get it a bit cheaper if you say it was recomended by someone from the Fiat Stilo forum. Remaps you can expect to pay anywhere from £200 to £350. Basically you can have it running how you want I asked for the most bhp without loss of mpg during normal driving that is. You can have more bhp and more mpg. Oops just been on his site they seem to be £160 now must have been a while since I was there no harm in asking for discount.

My 2001 Marea Weekend HLX has 3 inertia reel seatbelts in the back. It is Italian Spec. I am in SE France but bought in Turin because there was more choice and cars are expensive in Alpes Maritimes. Good luck with finding belts!
