Just failed an MOT

Nearside rear coil incomplete - £74 to replace
Offside front arm has play - £82 to replace
Horn not working (clock spring) - £220.61 to replace

The garage is saying the clock spring is costing them £170 + £50 to fit

Does these prices seem ok? To me, that is an expensive clock spring

I have found a Bravo clock spring on Ebay for a tenner.
Would a Bravo clock spring fit onto a marea?

P.S. the garage I went to was nationwide ( only went there as I had a voucher ) anyone have trouble with these?

Sounds like a rip off to me mate, the clock spring is to do with the airbag if memory serves, and they can't fail the mot for non working air bag.

Why not do what I did and call a local breakers year and see if they have a clock spring. I managed to get one for about £30 and it worked perfectly when I had my mechanic fit it. Sorted out my airbag issue perfectly

have you checked the fuse for the horn, by any chance

The clock spring also connects the horn button if it's steering wheel mounted.
