Hi. I got my Marea over the weekend and it came with no manual typically. No biggie most of it is as normal as any other car. But in the boot there is a panel on either side with a space behind it where it looks like something should go. At first i thought it was the jack, but that is with the spare wheel, so not that.

Can someone tell me what is supposed to go in these spaces normally or are they just general cubby holes?

My last car (A Chrysler Voyager) had similar spaces but they where for the jack and tyre spanner as the spare wheel is strapped under the car - and hence my original thinking. Just wondering as I have no idea myself.

Thanks and sorry for the dumb question.

I use my spaces for carrying a set of jump leads (just in case)and a small tyre inflator. I cant see anything mentioned in my handbook otherwise.

useful storage space; I have a CD changer in one and removable towbar & tyreweld in t'other
what engine do you have? Also beware the rear door catch as it tends to stick in the up position see posts on this...
these are good cars, my brother and I both have one, cheap luxury economical motoring..

My car is the 2001 Marea 110 SX JTD 1.9 Diesel. I have a towbar fitted as well (sadly not a removable one, but as it came with it I am not complaining). As a swap for an R reg 1.9 petrol voyager with a large dent in one of the sliding doors it seemed like a bargin as I did not need the size of the voyager any more.

Now I know the spaces are not supposed to house anything vital I think I will use them in the same type of way and shove my tow rope and ratchet strap for the roofbars in one of the pockets. I will also get a set of light bulbs as I learned many years ago to always carry a spare set just in case.
