can anybody help :(

Hi solar and welcome to the forum. :)

I'm afraid that my knowledge of diesel Fiats is a bit limited. It sounds that you have a problem with the pre-heater control unit. This should be a small box close to where the battery is. All I can suggest is check the state of the heater plugs and connections up to this box.

I don't think your problem will cause any harm, except perhaps reduce plug life if current is actually being applied when the light comes back on.

One of the diesel guys may be able to offer more advice. I'll put a note in the Bravo/a section as well for you.

thanks for that it is what i was thinking this is my first diesel and not used to the common things that can go wrong I do quite a lot of miles(35,000) this year and the marea has ran like a dream. I did have a bit of trouble with wipers coming on when lights were switched on to low beam but this stoped its self and never come back could the two problems be realated ?

Hi
I reckon one of your glow plugs has had it mine is the same. If it starts ok no problem but if it gets hard to start as weather gets colder you will need to replace. You can check which one by connecting a bulb to live battery and top of glow plugs the one which has failed will not light up.

thank you for that i will give it a go it is not causing any problems at the moment but I would like to stop them before they do.
