Hey chaps,

Already posted on fiatboo but thought I would ask here too.

Yesterday my 2.4jtd started flashing the injector light at me intermittently.

Today I realised that the light would come on and the radiator fan would kick in at 5000000 miles an hour! It's going so fast that doing 70 on the motorway with the radio on, I can still hear the fan whirring!

When the light is on I also seem to have some power loss from the engine, still accelerates but not like it should.
The temperature gauge seems fine and when the injector light isn't on the fan kicks in as normal.

Any ideas on what to look at as I don't have spare cash to just throw at fiat for a diagnostic, just to be told that a plug is loose.......

cheers guys

Darren

I think this would be the Coolant Temp. Sensor that feed back to the ECU.
When ECU cannt read your temp., it increase the Fan speed to max.

It could be the sensor itself of the socket or the wiring :) you need to check.

Mostafa

Thanks chap,

Fingers crossed it is something simple and cheap.

Any ideas if it is safe to drive?
I have done 65 miles in it today with the fan going at full speed and have work tomorrow. The car doesn't seem bothered, just a bit noisy...

No problem as engine temp is actual not hot.
It may consume more fuel, and feel less power, nothing else.
