Hi
My machine was stop work in moving couple times, but started normally again. Two days after it's stop and don't want to start at all. All error lights are turned off, but code light is on. In service they changed some relay and car started again normally. Problem is happened again and one guy from another service told me to try with my double key. Machine is with that key started normally, but also told me if that problem come again I will need to flash my ECU eprom. Is anyone have problems like that??

Fiat Marea 1.6 16v. 1997

PS: sorry for my poor english, also GREAT forum

Hi and welcome to our forum :)

If your car is starting with one key but not the other, then it is possibly a fault on the key chip.
ECU faults can cost a lot so I hope that is not the problem. If you have a faulty key I would recommend getting the good one copied so that you have a working spare.

Good luck :D

When I think all is ok, the problem is come again :( where to start again ?

does the engine stop running when you are actually driving??
or does the ignition key turn over the engine, but the engine will not start??

Yes, every time the engine stop running when i'm driving!
When I try to start it again, I can't. I have power and trying to start but without success. There is sound of starting but nothing else. Also I can't hear petrol pump when I try to start it, but pump is ok (checked). Is posible that some wire loosing connection, and which? I clean error code from ECU with computer (keylock error) and engine start normaly, but when I drive engine stop running and keycode error light is on. :bang:

This sounds like it may be a problem with either the transponder on the lock barrel or on one of the keys.
Do you get the same symptoms with both sets of keys?
Check the ECU for a loose plug and also for signs of water. Both these problems have been reported before.
Sorry that I can't be of more help. Good luck.

I finally fix the problem. Soon I will post pictures and explanations.

Thanks to all of You who helped me in this.

Are you sure its not the fuel cut off switch tripping under the seat, mines tripped for no reason a few times causing the car to die and it won't start until I reset it! Its done it twice now, seems the switch is really sensitive!

Duh! just read your how to fix it post! :bang:

I'm sure. Also I test it again...take off that wire and car won't start, also my RPM meter then jumping like crazy :)

Also I need to clean ABS sensors cose ABS error lingt is on or something is died :( I will make fwe pics of car
